  • Why was Nomad Legal developed?

Nomad Legal was developed to make it easy for locums and firms to communicate directly with each other by posting assignment alerts and availability, replying to them, and arranging assignments, without going through an Agency. Agencies have traditionally been the way that locums and firms have been matched, but their commission fees can make the cost of finding and using a locum expensive. The developer of Nomad Legal, himself a locum of over 30 years standing, believes that for most locums and firms, the direct approach, especially one that is free to join and use, is the way forward.

  • When was Nomad Legal founded?

Nomad Legal was founded in 2020 by a locum with over 30 years experience in the industry to improve the experience of working as and searching for a locum.

  • Does Nomad Legal cover the whole of the UK?

We cover England and Wales as other parts of the UK have different legal systems and requirements.

  • Do I have to have an account to use Nomad Legal’s services?

Firms and locums will need to join Nomad Legal before they can use its services, this is quick, easy, secure, and no sensitive information is needed, as well as being completely free.

  • Can I advertise for more than 1 locum position at a time?

Yes, as a firm you can advertise multiple positions at once. As a locum, browsing for potential assignments, you will be able to respond to as many as you wish, as well as posting your own advertisement.

  • Are there any costs associated with using Nomad Legal?

Nomad Legal is free to join and to use, for both firms and locums. In the future, if users wish to enjoy enhanced features of the service, charges will apply. However these features will be optional and we will always offer a free service.

  • How easy is Nomad Legal’s service to use?

Nomad Legal is extremely easy to use as it has been developed by a long standing Locum who knows the industry inside out. Give it a go and see for yourself.

  • What is a locum?

A locum is a freelancer, usually but not always self-employed, who works on a temporary basis with law firms when their employed fee earner is temporarily absent or has left permanently and the firm needs cover while they find a replacement.

  • What are the benefits of using a locum?
There are lots of benefits to using a locum to cover a missing member of staff including flexibility, cost savings and time savings.
